Innovative mixing solutions

We offer innovative solutions to optimize industrial processes such as emulsifying, dispersing, suspending and blending with the aim to reduce production time, increase efficiency and optimise mass transfer and production yielding.

UZ type agitator

Advantages: UZ type agitator is becoming more and more popular amongst various industries due to its efficiency in blending.

Applications:

  • low and medium viscosity products.
  • diary industry, in particular within milk storage tanks and buttermilk applications.
  • food and beverages industry for fruit juice processing, yeast, liquid egg and in the storage and process of liquid sugars etc.

Mag type impeller

Advantages:

  • As a two-bladed counter-flow impeller, our impellers have been postulated as very efficient for mixing highly viscous non-Newtonian fluids and is one of the most flexible impeller designs we offer.
  • It is capable of intensive mixing of the vessel content and the liquid surface due to its complex up and down movement of the fluid, which is caused by the opposite pitches of the inner and outer blade.
  • It has been created to combine both good circulation and low shear.
  • This impeller can provide up to four times better heat transfer than a standard turbine impeller due to the large blade diameter and proximity of the tip of the blade to the vessel wall.

Helical Ribbon

Advantages: Helical ribbon impellers are designed for axial movement of the liquid. These can also be developed with an additional inner helix used for pumping in the opposite direction, often needed for the mixing of high viscosity materials. Wall scrapers can be mounted on the impeller blades to improve heat transfer and homogeneity in sticky products.

Applications:

  • Suitable for high viscosity products up to 25,000,000cPs
  • Chemical industry for high viscosity mixing applications such as polymers
  • Food industry for high viscosity products such as creams and pastes.

Disperser

Advantages:

  • The disperser mixer is a high speed sawtooth impeller consisting of a large number of upwards and downwards pointing teeth around the periphery of the disc.
  • The standard circumferential speed is between 15-20m/sec creating a radial flow pattern together with vortex creation which pumps the floating powder into the high shear zone of the blades.
  • The pointed teeth then mechanically tear apart solids reducing their size as well as dispersing them amongst the liquid used. This mixer is designed for a range of materials of varying viscosities.
  • These sawtooth impellers are ideal for dispersions of up to a maximum of 50,000cPs. This viscosity can be increased when used in conjunction with multi-shaft mixers allowing for mixing of materials of several hundred thousand cPs

Applications:

  • Used in the dispersion process, mechanically breaking up particles, agglomerates or powders to generate faster homogeneity and increase the mass-transfer or dilution of solids into the solution.
  • Coatings, ink, dye, adhesives and chemicals.

Hydrofoil Turbine

Advantages:

  • Highly efficient for applications where low shear is important, as well as axial flow being desired.
  • Utilising 2-4 tapering twisted blades with cambered and sometimes round-edged, this impeller has a lower power number and higher flow per unit power than with a pitched blade turbine. The flow is more streamlined in the direction of the pumping, and the vortex systems of the impeller are not nearly as strong as those of the pitched blade turbine. This in turn causes minimum shearing and has more cavitation resistance than other designs.
  • The reduced weight of this impeller allows for the use of longer shaft extensions for deeper tanks and resolves associated critical speed limitations.
  • There is no interior shadow sides between the blades and smooth surfaces for easy cleaning.

Applications: efficient for liquid blending and solids suspension.

Marine Type Propeller

Advantages:

  • It is an axial flow impeller which can be equipped with between 2 and 4 blades and can be encased by a circular guard.
  • The revolving propeller traces out a helix in the fluid.
  • Can be mounted as a side entering mixer in larger tanks, or top mounted for smaller tanks.
  • Can be designed with a different pitch to change the combination of pumping rate and thrust.

Applications:

  • These are typically used for low viscosity fluids of up to 4000cP.
  • Ideal for blending, suspension or incorporation of solids or heat transfer.

Anchor Agitator

Advantages:

  • These agitators are close-clearance impellers designed to fit the contours of the vessel which obtain adequate mixing under the laminar flow conditions encountered in high viscosity applications.
  • Can be combined with additional agitators in many applications.
  • The whole wall surface of the vessel is scraped and incorporated into the mix through physical contact.

Applications:

  • Used for liquid viscocities between 5000-100,000cPs.
  • Often used within the food industry for thick but pourable products such as sauces, as well as within the chemical industry for paints ink and adhesives.

Paddle Turbines

Advantages:

  • These are generally 2-bladed 90-degree slow speed agitators. To achieve both axial and radial flow combined, these paddles can be mounted either in 60, 45 or 30-degree configurations.
  • These 2-bladed turbines can be installed in tanks with restricted access.
  • These agitators often have 2 or more sets of paddles mounted on a single agitator shaft.
  • Can be mounted via a steady bearing at the bottom and stabilised in the tank between the paddles if required.

Applications:

  • Suitable for low-moderate shear and low flow, mixing products with viscosities of up to 10,000cPs.
  • Ideal for blending and for heat transfer.

Gate Mixers

Advantages:

  • Similar to the Anchor agitator, the Gate type mixer is a close-clearance impeller that fits within the contours of the vessel which obtain adequate mixing under the laminar flow conditions encountered in higher viscosity applications.
  • These impellers sweep the whole wall surface of the vessel and agitate most of the fluid through physical contact.
  • Some are designed to include hinged scrapers to improve heat transfer with the wall and prevent the sticking of materials of high viscosity when low shear is adequate.
  • Gate mixers move at low shaft speed, and can be used for both atmospheric and pressure-rated tanks.

Applications:

  • Suitable for liquid viscosities between 5,000 and 100,000cP.
  • Widely used in the manufacture of food products such as yogurts and soft-cheese, as well as within the chemical industry for grease applications.

Rotor-Stator High Shear Mixer

Advantages:

  • The high shear mixer uses a high speed rotor/stator generator to apply intense mechanical and hydraulic shear. The rotor blades run at peripheral speeds of 15-30 m/s within a fixed stator. As the blades rotate past each opening in the stator, they shear particles and droplets expelling material at high velocity into the mix.
  • As material is expelled, more is drawn from beneath into the high shear zone of the rotor/stator promoting continuous flow and fast particle size reduction.
  • This mixer includes a solid/liquid injection manifold.
  • With a specially modified rotor/stator design that generates a strong vacuum, the system can draw solids through a separate feed tube and injects this directly into the high shear zone. Even hard to disperse solids are dispersed instantly.
  • The stators are interchangeable enabling precise high-shear agitator configurations suitable for your application. Interchangeable heads include a ‘Disintegration Head’ with large holes suited for general purpose mixing, a ‘Slotted Head’ which is popular for its combination of high shear and efficient flow rate ideal for emulsions or medium viscosity products and a ‘Fine Screen Head’ for the highest shear possible – at the expense of a slower flow rate suitable for low viscosity emulsions.

Applications:

  • The Rotor-Stator mixer’s intense shear works well to reduce particle size for homogenisation, dissolution, solubilisation, emulsification, grinding and dispersion.
  • When working independently, the high shear mixer is able to work with materials with viscosity of up to 10,000cP, however when working concurrently with an anchor, this viscosity increases to up to 200,000cPs.
  • Applications that require rapid induction of powders

Rushton

Advantages:

  • These impellers are often called a flat-blade radial turbine with four or more vertical blades equally distributed around the periphery of the disc.
  • The flow is discharged radially outward to the vessel wall with half of the flow directed upwards and half of the flow directed downwards.
  • With baffles, these flows are converted to strong top-to-bottom flows both above and below the impeller.

Applications:

  • Most effective for gas-liquid and liquid-liquid dispersion, providing a higher shear and turbulence level with lower pumping.
  • These are primarily designed for immiscible liquids, fermentation, gas dispersion, waste/fibre processing and low level mixing.

IBC Agitators – folding impellers.

Advantages:

  • IBC agitators are designed to fir through a standard 150mm screwed cap to allow quick re-suspension or re-homogenisation to the product during storage or transportation as well as preparation and dissolving processes. The impeller is designed in such a way that the blades open out with centrifugal force and lock in place when fully open.
  • Can be supplied with integral variable speed drives, electrical and pneumatical explosion-proof motor.
  • Also come with a mountable stainless steel bridge for secure fitting to the construction of the container.

Lifting Stands

Advantages:

  • Pneumatic & electric lifts for agitators allow an easy operation of mobile mixing tanks by allowing the mixing element onto an open drum or mixing vessel.
  • Lifts for agitators are engineered in light of safety regulations and produced from stainless steel.

Applications:

  • The lifts can be designed as a stationary mounted mixer that is anchored into a hard surface floor or bolted to a steel structure.
  • Can be designed as a mobile unit with wheels and supplied complete with an agitator and a control panel.
